Walldorf, and Potsdam, Germany – February 17, 2025 – SAP Fioneer, a leading global provider of financial services software solutions and platforms, has partnered with “Investitionsbank des Landes Brandenburg” (ILB) to develop a platform for development banks, with ILB being the first institution to implement it. In light of growing challenges – such as the need for digitalization, compliance with strict regulatory requirements, and adaptation to new funding guidelines – the “Digital Workplace for Development Banks” (DWD) creates an efficient, flexible, and secure infrastructure that digitally maps out and optimizes the entire funding process.
The “Digital Workplace for Development Banks” (DWD) is specifically tailored to the needs of development banks: from application initiation to approval, disbursement, and monitoring, the DWD helps development banks make their processes more efficient, transparent, and user-friendly. With a 360-degree view of all ongoing funding projects, all relevant information is provided in real-time to promote not only decision-making and risk assessment but also collaboration among all stakeholders. By automating routine tasks and providing tools for process management, the DWD helps reduce processing times and optimize the quality of how funding projects are handled.
The DWD integrates seamlessly as an SAP Fioneer Business Solution into the existing IT architecture and leverages the capabilities of RISE with SAP and the SAP S/4HANA platform in conjunction with the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) to provide a flexible, scalable, and secure environment for processing funding transactions. This will enable new funding guidelines and products to be implemented and brought to market more quickly in the future.

The DWD is being developed as a co-innovation project by SAP Fioneer and ILB for the development bank market. The rollout is planned in stages until 2028.
