Bringing LIFT to life: David Brösamle’s journey from Graduate to Consultant
Published on: 10 December 2025
Graduate Recruitment Manager Christian Kohnle talks with LIFT alumni David Brösamle about his start at SAP Fioneer in 2025 and what makes the Graduate Program an exceptional way to begin a career in tech.
Hi David, tell us a bit about yourself. What’s your role and what do you do at SAP Fioneer?
I joined SAP Fioneer in February 2025 as a Business Solutions Consultant Graduate. Today, I’m working as a Consultant within the Finance Division on a client project. My main responsibility is the calculation of valuations for financial instruments.
What convinced you to join SAP Fioneer through the LIFT Graduate Program?
First of all, the friendly initial contact via LinkedIn made a great impression. From there, I realized that SAP Fioneer is a young company with a start-up culture. On top of that, the client portfolio includes well-known names from the financial industry. This broad range of potential projects and tasks was very appealing—especially at a time when, as a graduate, you naturally face uncertainty about your future career path.
What have been the highlights of your journey at SAP Fioneer so far?
Internally, the onboarding in Serbia with the other new graduates was fantastic. Another standout moment was the “Berlin Calling” event for the FPSL Community — two days of training and networking with colleagues from different areas. On the project side, highlights included solving my first bug, team events, and receiving great feedback after my first major client meeting.

In your experience, what are the key points to prepare for the LIFT Graduate Program application process?
I think two things are crucial. First, reflect on your authenticity and strengths beforehand. Use these to present your individuality and be open about any weaknesses. Second, don’t hesitate to reach out and ask questions during the process—communication is key.
You’re now working in the SAP ecosystem, even though you hadn’t worked in it before. How was that transition for you?
It was exciting! While not completely new, topics I had previously studied in theory now appear in a completely different context. The process orientation here is much stronger, which can be challenging. The learning curve is steep, and that’s something you need to respect. Progress doesn’t happen overnight—you need to commit to your long-term development.
Do you actively plan your career?
I’d say it’s about 80% planning and 20% leaving room for new opportunities. Having a plan and thinking about your goals is essential, but you should also stay open to spontaneous chances. For example, my start at Fioneer was triggered by your LinkedIn message—something I hadn’t planned. Careers aren’t always a straight line; they can have waves and curves.
How would you describe the team culture and collaboration at SAP Fioneer?
From my experience, I can only speak positively. The hierarchies are very flat, and everyone works toward the same goals. Communication is open, and the collegial environment makes work enjoyable.
Finally, what advice would you give to future LIFT graduates?
I’d highlight three points:
- Be authentic, stay curious, and enjoy trying new things.
- Embrace change—it happens often. This dynamic environment offers many opportunities, so get involved and make the most of them.
- Take every chance to learn and actively develop yourself. Be aware that acquiring new skills—even beyond your core role—requires commitment and time.
Thank you for your time and insights.
